Marrakech - Merzouga - Fes

Overview

This one is one of our fan favorites. If you like to immerse in the places you travel to, and get an even deeper sense of the lifestyle, as well as connect with local people, then this 8 day trip is for you. You will get to experiences things only locals will be able to show you. Your tour will include a stay at a family owned Riad, henna, tea with the nomads, and a hammam experience if desired.

You will also get the chance to enjoy an evening under the Sahara stars with the desert locals as they perform the authentic Berber drums at the desert camp. You will leave with a deep sense of the culture, hospitality, and lifestyle of the native desert dwellers.

Day 1

Arrive in Marrakech, airport pickup, and transfer to a Riad in the Medina for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Explore Marrakech with a half-day guided tour of the red city, including souks, Koutoubia Mosque, and end the day with dinner at Jemaa ElFna square.

Day 3

Travel through the Atlas Mountains, visit Ait Benhaddou, drive through Tizi n’Tichka pass, and stay overnight in Dades Gorge.

Day 4

Journey from Dades Gorge to Merzouga, visit Toudra Gorge, experience Berber culture, camel ride to a desert camp, enjoy traditional dinner and music.

Day 5

Optional Sahara sunrise, sandboarding, 4X4 dune ride, visit nomads and Gnawa people, return to a Riad in Merzouga for dinner and stay.

Day 6

Drive to Fes, possibly stop at Rissani market, learn about desert irrigation, see forest monkeys, arrive in Fes for dinner and overnight at a Riad.

Day 7

Fes day tour, visit Fes el-Bali, tanneries, Mellah (Jewish Quarter), and Borj Nord for city views.

Day 8

Drive to Chefchaouen, explore the medina, enjoy sunset views, and visit key sights like Plaza Uta El-Hammam and the Spanish Mosque.

Day 9

Depart for Rabat, stop at Volubilis Roman ruins, tour Rabat's landmarks, and spend the evening exploring the medina.

Day 10

Drive to Marrakech via Casablanca to see Hassan II Mosque, enjoy free time in Marrakech's Medina, dinner, and relax in the Riad.

Day 11

Departure from Marrakech after breakfast, with airport transfer for your flight home.
